80 year old female with abdominal pain, left large inguinal hernia.

Gross: The specimen consists of a hemorrhagic fibroadipose hernia sac tissue, measuring 6 x 4 x 1 cm. One possible lymph node is grossly identified, and measuring 1.8 cm. in greatest dimension. The specimen is sectioned. Representative sections are submitted.

Micro: Sections show fibroadipose hernia sac tissue with vascular congestion, several benign lymph nodes, and benign mesothelial lining. One of the lymphs shows multiple dilated lymphatic channels, consistent with lymphangioma. H & E
