Microscopic photo. Rectal biopsy showing haphazardly arranged benign colonic crypts surrounded by fibroblasts and smooth muscle proliferation. The normal inflammatory component of the lamina propria is obliterated by prominent pink bands of smooth muscle and fibroblasts which have a streaming quality. H&E Section.

75 year old female with rectal polyp.
