Sections show distended terminal ducts and acini with proliferation of medium/large dyscohesive cells exhibiting eosinophilic, granular and occasionally vacuolated cytoplasm. Eccentrically placed nuclei are 4x size of lymphocytes, exhibit moderate/marked pleomorphism and occasional distinct nucleoli. Central necrosis and microcalcifications are present. The dilated terminal ducts show atypical ductal hyperplasia (ADH) and high grade ductal intraepithelial neoplasia (DIN). H&E Stain. The tumor cells are positive for ER and PR. IHC Stain.
