The morphology of this neoplasm is unusual. There are giant cells present in spaces separated by paucicellular fibrillary septae containing abundant Rosenthal fibers.

Although not absolutely typical, this lesion probably best fits the "complex" form of DNT. The lesion is composed of fairly bland cells in multiple nodules that are mainly cortical in location.

Sections show a pilocytic glial neoplasm with sparse Rosenthal fibers and more frequent eosinophilic granular bodies.

Rosenthal fibers and striking glomeruloid vascular/endothelial proliferation are present in the tumor.
