The morphology of this neoplasm is unusual. There are giant cells present in spaces separated by paucicellular fibrillary septae containing abundant Rosenthal fibers.

This glioma has unusual features and is difficult to classify and grade histologically. It has sheets and nests of infiltrating cells that are not well differentiated.
