Born in Baytown, Texas, I received my undergraduate degree at New College in Sarasota, Florida and graduated from the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa in 2006. I completed residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas and am currently a Blood Bank/Transfusion Medicine Fellow at Washington University in St. Louis. With the assistancee of a CAP travel grant in 2009, I attended CAP Futurescape and arranged a month-long training rotation at BioImagene to study digital slide scanning. Since then, I've been working to create a resident archive of cases that combine digital slides with immunohistochemistry, gross photographs, radiologic images, and testing for resident self-assessment and board preparation.
